If I were driving the bus, I'd tell Sharon that Americans are fed up with Israel and we are going to change
the game. The Israelis are no longer allowed to wear "Plays well with others"
T-shirts. They have demonstrated from the beginning that they are not good
citizens of the Mideast. For thousands of years, there has been unrest in
this area. Enough is enough. Bush should announce that America is going to
participate in a grand gesture that should result in world peace.
The citizens of the two westernmost counties in Texas are going to move to other areas in the country. They will receive as compensation twice the current value of their homes, businesses and farms. The money will come from the Israelis. Israel will have 5 years to move to Nuevo Israel. They will be paid the value of their property by the Saudis, who will donate the land to the Palestinians. The Israelis will move to Nuevo Israel and set about to live happy productive lives without having to worry that the Arabs will blow themselves up in cafes. They will understand that their sacrifice is in the best interests of world peace and the Lord would want it that way. They will be allowed to bring with them some agreed upon amount of holy stones. Bush can dress up like Moses. The Lord will get the message and make arrangements for the second coming in Texas. Molly Ivens will love it. I don't know what to say to those American religionists who feel compelled to support the state of Israel because they think one day Christ will return. Everyone else in the area finds reason to hate the Israelis. Despite ongoing talks and agreements, we have no reason to be hopeful that a state of Palestine will be created or peace will be achieved. The Israelis have had their chance and blown it. It's time for them to move out of the area and find a home where they won't be hated. Yes, it will be tough to say good-bye, but it is for the best. What you make on the peanuts, you lose on the popcorn. Israel can give up its real estate and make world peace. Being able to live in peace and harmony in Nuevo Israel should be adequate compensation for freedom from suicide bombers. Sorry it didn't work out. The Lord would approve because peace is achieved. Arab states could then build their
nations in peace, free from the distraction that hatred creates that seems to be part of the culture
of the three desert religions.
The 3 desert religions can find a way to
get along because the anxiety of lusting after the same holy ground has been
replaced by the newfound belief that God really wants us to get along and
quit fighting.
So now, we have the Mullah Wars. The Moslem mullahs preach to their believers that America is the devil. Come on. Lighten up. But then we have goofy Pat Robertson making a pitch to his followers that his God is superior to that nasty ol' Muslim God. Holy smokes! Is this the way these Gods decided to run things? So, we got your Christian and your Muslim and your Jew and then we have 421 other flavors of organized religion and it's all guided by a Supreme Being. Why would the Gods, who presumably are pretty much in charge of these things, ingrain in us the drive to punish people who are not like us. The miracle of the United States is that despite the natural inclination of mankind to be xenophobic and clannish, diversification has been wonderful, but it has been thrust upon us and we have learned that it is a good thing.
